Do not repeat numbers on either side of the mapping; if a domain has more than one range, it is not a function.

The equation must not include exponents, variables in the denominators or fractions, or x and y being multiplied together.

To graph the new equation, make a function table with the domain and range. Give x the value of zero and see, according to the equation, what this makes y. Do the same thing with y as zero and then graph the points. If it makes all the numbers zero, substitute one of the zeroes with 1.

1. The lead coefficient can't be negative.2. Neither the coefficient nor the constant can be a fraction.3. The equation must be in Ax + By = C form.4. Any coefficients and constants must be simplified.
