    a. The infectious stage, or elementary body(EB), is taken into phagocytic vesicles by the host cell.

    b. In the phagosome, each elementary body develops into a reticulate body (RB)

    c. Reticulate bodies multiply by regular binary fission.

    d. Mature RBs become reorganized into EBs.

    e. Completed EBs are released from the host cell.
