Generally, hormones are categorized into four structural groups, with members of each group having many properties in common. What are these four groups?
Answer:
Steroids (ex. pregnenalone), peptides and proteins (ex. insulin), amino acid derivatives (ex. tyrosine can produce thyroxine or dopamine/epinephrine). Also, vitamin derivatives (ex. retinoids, calcitriol), and fatty acid derivatives (ex. eicosanoids - lcoal hormones).
