Nikita Kruschev was a leader in the Soviet Union during the 1950s and 60s, after the death of Josef Stalin. He stood for reform and was critical of Stalin, as he blamed Stalin for jailing and killing loyal citizens of the Soviet Union (introduced destalinization). He wanted to spread communism and opened communication with the West (particularly the U.S.). He was the Prime Minister of Russia (Soviet Union) from 1958-1974.
