Question: What peripheral hunger cues do the stomach, liver, intestines, and fat cells give?
Answer: Stomach: walls stretch and "stretch receptors" signal fullness Liver: signals hunger when blood glucose levels fall, and fullness when glucose levels rise Intestines: secrete the hormone CCK (cholecystokinin) which inhibits hunger Fat cells: secret the hormone leptin which is monitored by the hypothalimus
