Question:

What is an advantage of a double circuit circulatory system over a single circuit circulatory system?

Answer:

-In single circuit circulation, blood pressure decreases in the capillaries of the respiratory organs and does not pick up again. -Double circuit circulation (i.e., pulmonary and systemic circuits) allows blood to be pumped at a constant high pressure, increasing the rate of oxygen delivery to the body's cells.
