What was the purpose of KOH in the cell resp lab?
Answer:
Cell respiration uses O2 but it also produces CO2 at the same rate. We used KOH to absorb the CO2 so the volume of gas in the chamber was not affected by CO2. therefore the volume of gas decreased as the O2 was used up.
