Question: DPIP was used to measure the rate of photosynthesis. Describe how DPIP works in this experiment.
Answer: DPIP is blue until it is reduced which turns it clear. DPIP accepts electrons from photosystem I. This reduces DPIP (i.e. DPIP is gaining electrons) so it turns clear. By measuring how fast it turns clear, we can measure the rate of photosynthesis
